NetPhantom System Requirements
The system requirements of the three parts of NetPhantom are shown below. NetPhantom Client
The NetPhantom Client requires a Java Runtime version 5, 6 or 7, and an
operating system supporting that platform. There are no special requirements as
to the vendor of the Java Virtual Machine. If the client is installed on a
workstation, it requires about 500 KB of disk. The memory requirements in the
Java Virtual Machine (JVM) is about 64 MB, but could be more depending on the
complexity of the graphical representation of the application and how many
panels are displayed simultaneously.
The NetPhantom Client can run as a stand-alone Java Application and as an Applet
inside or outside a browser. Tested browsers are Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 to 9,
Mozilla Firefox 2 to 8, Google Chrome 3 to 16, Opera 9 to 11.5 and Apple Safari 4 to 5.1.
NetPhantom Server The Server requires Java version 1.6 (update 16 or better). The operating system is typically Windows Server or UNIX-based of Linux type. In order to run many concurrent client connections and handle a lot of threads, a 64-bit operating system with a 64-bit JVM is recommended. This also enables the NetPhantom Server to address more memory (the maximum Java heap memory limit being 1.1 GB in practice for a 32-bit JVM). NetPhantom Editor
NetPhantom Editor is partly written for a 32 bit Windows platform even if the
NetPhantom Server is integrated into it. As such, the Editor requires a Windows
operating system that is Windows XP or later. It also requires Oracle
Java version 1.6 (update 16 or better). The Editor is supported
Windows XP*, Windows Vista*,
Windows 2008 (R2)* or Windows 7*.
The star (*) above means either the 32-bit or 64-bit operating
system version, but requires the 32-bit version of the Virtual Machine.
Java Supported System Configurations
The combinations of Java, operating systems, desktop managers and browsers are
numerous. Follow one of the links below for more information:
